1928 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. Though the 1927 edition is typically considered the finest of all Yankee squads, the cast of characters in 1928, and the end result of their season's endeavors, are essentially the same. After securing the American League flag with leading numbers in every power-slugging category, the Yanks cruised to their second consecutive Series sweep in a rematch of the 1926 Fall Classic against the St. Louis Cardinals. A thick and glossy coating of shellac has managed to maintain the easy legibility of almost all twenty-four autographs present on this OAL (Johnson) ball, notably Ruth (5/10), Gehrig (6/10), Lazzeri (3/10), Dickey (2/10), Pennock (6/10), Combs (5/10), Durocher (5/10), Hoyt (6/10), Meusel (5/10) and Moore (7/10). The balance of the signatures averages about 4/10. A solid representation of a team sphere from this earliest and greatest of all Yankee dynasties. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
