1928 Babe Ruth Signed First & Limited Edition of "Babe Ruth's Own Book of Baseball." This magnificent hardcover first edition has "Babe Ruth's Own Book of Baseball. George Herman Ruth" is embossed in gold on the cover along with two bats and four baseballs. The spine also reads "Babe Ruth's Book of Baseball. Ruth." The endpapers feature a panoramic photo of Yankee Stadium and there are many wonderful photographic plates contained within the book. Right after the flyleaf and a blank page, there is a "special edition" page which reads "This is Number 333 [handwritten] of 1,000 copies of 'Babe Ruth's Own Book of Baseball' autographed by the Author. G.P. Putnam's Sons." Above, The Sultan signs "'Babe' Ruth" in bold black fountain pen. The loop of the "R" and the "h" is a tad lighter than the rest of the autograph where the pen may have come off the page a bit. Regardless, the signature still grades an overall NRMT in strength. The book exhibits some expected handling but remains gorgeous. An incredible keepsake from the peak of Babe's career, when Murderer's Row was in full force and the Bambino was still signing with quotation marks. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
