1927 Walter Johnson Single Signed Baseball. The Big Train came to the end of the tracks this season, at least in a playing capacity, recording the last five of his 417 career victories that earns him an eternity as the number two man behind Cy Young. While any Johnson single is a rarity to be coveted, those few dating to his years of active duty are particularly special. This one provides the added appeal of OAL (Johnson) breeding, with Johnson's sweet spot signature a stutter-step of bold and light ink, perhaps a 6/10 when considered as a whole. Johnson dated his signature below, but only the ghost of the writing remains. A notation on the northern panel that reads "Birthday Greetings to Elisa Babcock, Oct. 1, 1927" appears to be in another hand. One of the toughest singles of the inaugural Hall of Fame induction class. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
