    Description

1927 St. Louis Cardinals Team Signed Baseball. Finishing in second place in the National League in 1927, the St. Louis Cardinals boasted a stacked lineup any team would be envious of: Frankie Frisch, Jim Bottomley, Chick Hafey, Billy Southworth, Rabbit Maranville, Jesse Haines and Grover Cleveland Alexander, just to name the Hall of Famers! The offered ball is an excellent example of a team signed baseball sporting some of those top names. The ONL (Heydler) ball is lightly toned with a nice, light layer of shellac, and based on several players not in the Baseball Reference database, likely comes from the pre-season.

Found on this sphere are the signatures of Frank Frisch, Jim Bottomley (clubhouse), Jesse Haines, Chick Hafey, Billy Southworth and of course, Grover Cleveland "Ol' Pete" Alexander. Another eighteen signatures are also found on the ball, with most signatures rating between 6-8/10, averaging 7+. Only four names on one panel (including Frisch and Bottomley) rate in the 6/10 range. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
