1927 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. After his team posted just a single run in each half of an Independence Day doubleheader against the Yankees' tallies of twelve and twenty-one respectively, Washington Senators first baseman Joe Judge lamented, "Those fellows not only beat you but they tear your heart out. I wish the season was over." It was a common sentiment throughout the American League that year. By the time it had been brought to a merciful conclusion with a four-game World Series sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Yanks had come up just two runs short of an even thousand scored, a full 389 more than their opponents could muster. The team appropriately dubbed "Murderer's Row" is almost universally considered not only the greatest squad in Bronx history, but in that of baseball at large.

It's no wonder that team signed baseballs from the season of Ruth's record sixty homers and Gehrig's first MVP are among the most coveted in the hobby, with a supply maddeningly insufficient for demand. Here we find that historic club upon the most desirable of media, an OAL (Johnson) baseball such as those utilized during that season. Ruth properly commands the sweet spot position, registering at an impressive 7/10, while his sidekick Gehrig appears with equal strength upon a side panel. The ball exhibits an expected degree of surface wear, likely from ill advised post-signing play, but the following signatures can be discerned: Combs (8/10), Lazzeri (3/10), Koenig (5/10), Meusel (6/10), Paschal (3/10), Durst (3/10), Beall (4/10), Dugan (5/10), Hoyt (3/10), Ruether (4/10), Collins (2/10), Giard (1/10), Gazella (1/10), Thomas (1/10), Pipgras (1/10), Morehart (2/10), Moore (3/10), Pennock (2/10), Shocker (3/10). Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
