    Description

1927 Miller Huggins Signed New York Yankees Payroll Check. His mighty Murderer's Row had already slaughtered the American League by the time this September 19, 1927 check was issued, though the eyes of the world remained trained on the Bronx to see if the Babe would break his own single-season home run record. Made payable for "$3,316.48," the check is authorized by the bold black fountain pen signatures of Ed Barrow and Jake Ruppert on the front, and endorsed in 8/10 ink by Huggins on verso. Typed text at top indicates this check was a replacement for an earlier one misplaced by the Hall of Fame manager. Single vertical center fold, otherwise fine. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
