    Description

1927 Charles "Chief" Bender Signed Photograph. He won almost two hundred games during twelve seasons in service of the Philadelphia Athletics, earning a Cooperstown plaque and Connie Mack's undying gratitude. Here we find the Native American ace in the uniform of an Athletics minor league franchise as he passed along his vast knowledge to a new generation of ballplayers. It's one of the earliest Bender signed photos we've ever encountered, as the vast majority date from late in his life. The black fountain pen inscription, reading "Aug. 21st - 27, Sincerely yours, 'Chief' C.A. Bender," presents with impressive 9/10 boldness. The 8x10" photo exhibits wear, most notably an archival tape repaired left side and various chips around the borders. Our catalog imagery should indicate however that the photo still presents nicely despite these faults. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am regarding the sale of my hockey jersey. You were great to work with, you answered all my phone calls and e-mails in a prompt manner, and you did a great job marketing the jersey.
