    Description

1927 Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig & Christy Walsh Signed Page. Marketing icons like Derek Jeter, Michael Jordan and Peyton Manning might not be cashing million dollar checks from Nike and Gatorade if it hadn't been for Christy Walsh, the first sports superagent whose Midas touch turned the star power of Yankees sluggers Ruth and Gehrig into pure gold and redefined sports celebrity. One of the few pieces we've encountered to feature this important trio, the presented 4x5" page was apparently signed at a Los Angeles Kings of Columbus event on November 1, 1927 as the famous Bustin' Babes vs. Larrupin' Lous barnstorming tour passed through the City of Angels in the weeks following the greatest season in Yankees history. All pencil autographs are unimprovably bold, and the page exhibits moderate toning which only adds to the vintage aesthetic. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
