1927 Babe Ruth Double Signed Check. Just two months after capping his historic sixty home run season with a four-game World Series sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Babe twice endorsed this royalties check made payable to him by Christy Walsh in the amount of $845.42. The first signature is in the format most common upon Ruth checks, the standard "GH Ruth" variation. Just below, however, is a very rare and considerably more desirable "Geo. H. Babe Ruth" format, appearing in the same bold black fountain pen ink as the first. The slightest bleeding of the ink at the top part of the "B" in "Babe" is mentioned only for the sake of full disclosure, and our catalog imagery should properly indicate just how minor a concern this is. Bank punch coding and stamping remains mercifully clear of the signatures, only affecting the middle initial "H" in the second autograph. A magnificent double signed check from the most important year of the Babe's storied career. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
