    Description

1927 Babe Ruth & Jack Dempsey Single Signed Baseball. The unique stamping style of this OAL (Johnson) sphere dates the provided baseball definitively to the year 1927, one of great importance for each of the two Golden Age legends in autographic residency. For the Babe, who occupies the sweet spot in 3/10 blue fountain pen ink, it was the season of his greatest triumph, a record sixty home run campaign with a World Series sweep for the encore. For Dempsey, who struggles in fading ink beneath a dark stain on a side panel, it was the year of his most memorable defeat, a losing decision in the "Long Count Fight" that would prove to be the last battle of his career. Certainly there are condition issues here, but the ideal pairing and vintage cannot be dismissed. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
