    Description

1926 Ty Cobb Signed Letter of Sympathy to Christy Walsh. The legendary Georgia Peach sends a typed sympathy letter to his agent Walsh on Detroit Tigers letterhead at the start of his final season with the team he represented for his entire career to that point. Cobb mentions he had just returned from eye surgery at Johns Hopkins, then offers his heartfelt condolences for the loss of Walsh's father. He concludes cheerfully, writing, "Keep the old head up for after all this is a wonderful world to live in. Hope to see you soon, and with kind regards, I am, [signed] Ty Cobb." The page exhibits original mailing folds and a rusty paper clip stain at left edge but no other troubles. Green ink signature rates 9/10. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
