1926 Babe Ruth Signed Typed Letter, PSA/DNA Mint 9. It is not too often that a player bats .372 with 47 home runs and 153 RBI and does not win a Triple Crown. For Babe Ruth, that happened in 1926, when he lost out on the batting title to Heinie Manush's .378. To make matters worse, this came on the heels of the 1925 season when Ruth hit .393 and also missed the batting title that year. Ruth's Yankees would play in the World Series in 1926, but fall short to the St. Louis Cardinals in seven games.

Sometime during the 1926 season, Ruth took a little time to visit Camp Oscawana in Peekskill, NY. Following his visit, Ernesto De Sousa, Camp Director, typed and signed this letter thanking Ruth for his visit: "Honored by the visit of the greatest player of base-ball kingdom we send you our cordial greetings." Later, someone had Ruth add his signature to this item right above De Sousa's, in stunning 10/10 ink. The letter has been folded numerous times, and has several pencil notations on it. The corners show evidence of having been taped at some point, with light paper loss. None of this detracts from the pleasing signature of Ruth, and this item is ready for framing. Full Grading LOA from PSA/DNA, Mint 9. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
