Description

1926 Babe Ruth Signed Photograph. The Babe works on his short game in this unique photograph snapped just weeks after he committed what historians contend to be the biggest gaffe of his baseball career, inexplicably and unsuccessfully attempting a steal of second base to record the final out of the Series' seventh game. We're tempted to forgive the Babe for this brief indiscretion, however, and instead focus upon the black fountain pen inscription which reads, To my friend Jim Boldt, From 'Babe' Ruth, Nov. 26, 1926." The strength of the ink ranges from 2/10 to 8/10 throughout the course of the writing, with "Babe" a little light but "Ruth" much bolder. The 7.5x9.5" photo is mounted to a cardboard backing, which has served its purpose admirably, warding off any tearing or creasing. A tough early signed photo from the game's greatest name. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Third party shipping is required.
