1926-27 Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb & Walter Johnson Signed Album Page. A belated round of applause for the original owner of this remarkable sheet, as he targeted three of the five members of the original 1936 Hall of Fame class a full decade before they were informed of the honor. At top we find the highly coveted early "quotation marked" version of Babe Ruth's autograph, dated November 5, 1926 in the collector's hand. Ruth's signature rates 9/10. Next, signing a little over two months later, is Ty Cobb, whose autograph wavers between 8/10 and 9/10. Bringing up the rear is Walter Johnson, whose February 1, 1927 signature survives at 4/10 strength. A circular news clipping photograph is affixed beside each signature on the 5x7.5" page, which exhibits a few horizontal folds that do not impede upon the autographs, and some toning is likewise innocuous. Verso of page has no writing. The Sultan of Swat, the Georgia Peach and the Big Train! What could be better? Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
