    Description

1925 Ty Cobb Single Signed Baseball, PSA/DNA EX+ 5.5. Any Cobb single is cause for celebration, but playing-days examples are particularly (and properly) coveted by sophisticated collectors for their rarity and heightened appeal. Presented is one such example, an ONL (Heydler) ball garnering a rather stingy rating of 6/10 from the experts at PSA/DNA for the black fountain pen side panel inscription reading "From Ty Cobb, Dec. 31-25." The ball itself was assessed at a 5/10 rating for the combined score as listed. This would prove to be Cobb's final New Year's Eve as a Detroit Tiger, as he would play his twenty-third Major League season as a member of the 1927 Philadelphia Athletics. A marvelous relic from just months before Cobb cut the ribbon on the 4,000 Hit Clubhouse. Full grading LOA from PSA/DNA, EX+ 5.5 Cert P08924. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
