    Description

1924 Wally Pipp Signed New York Yankees Payroll Check. He "took the two most expensive aspirin in history" on June 2, 1925 when a headache sidelined the Yankees first baseman and gave the start to a kid named Lou Gehrig, who would retain the position for the next 2,130 contests. Pipp signs verso of this payroll check in endorsement, while obverse is signed by Hall of Fame executive Ed Barrow and owner Jacob Ruppert's brother George. Check has small bend at upper right, otherwise no issues of note. Autographs rate 8/10 or better. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
