1920's Harry Heilmann Single Signed Baseball. Take away Teddy Ballgame's historic 1941 campaign and this would be the last man to bat .400, a feat Heilmann accomplished as he claimed the second of four American League batting titles with a .403 tally in 1923. Though the star outfielder for the Detroit Tigers ranks twelfth on the Major League career charts with a .342 lifetime average, Heilmann inexplicably earned his Hall of Fame plaque posthumously, a full twenty years after his last at-bat. Former teammate Ty Cobb was instrumental in the enshrinement efforts. This glaring Cooperstown oversight surely contributed to the intense scarcity of available singles, and secures the status of this playing-days model as the king of that tiny supply. Heilmann's side panel black fountain pen signature rates a stellar 8.5/10, with the Ban Johnson stamping of the OAL sphere assuring a vintage no later than 1927. The ball exhibits game use, suggesting the exciting possibility that the ball played some form of significant role in Heilmann's illustrious career. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
