    Description

1918 Connie Mack Handwritten Signed Letter & Signed Envelope. His 1914 World Championship team spread to the wind due to the increased salary competition spurred by the Federal League's brief existence, the Tall Tactician was back at the bottom of the American League when he penned this note on the Philadelphia Athletics' gorgeous official letterhead. He courts a college ballplayer in his brief text, though no record of the recipient's name appears in Major League statistics. All ink remains 9/10 or better and the single page exhibits original mailing folds and tiny filing holes at upper edge but presents perfectly despite these minor concerns. A rare and highly desirable early Mack letter. Included is original mailing envelope written in Mack's hand, with "C. Mack" autograph at return address. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
