1915 Pittsburgh Pirates Team Signed Baseball with Honus Wagner. Century-old Pirates treasure documents a tumultuous age in our National Pastime, as the entrenched Majors fought off a dangerous challenge from the newly-minted Federal League, which was in its dying throes as this ONL (Tener) sphere made the rounds of the Forbes Field dugout. You'll note that the signatures are a combination of cursive signatures and hand-printed names, a common attribute of Dead Ball Era team balls and none the less authentic for its antiquated format. The veteran shortstop "Hans Wagner" prints his name next to the circular "Spalding" logo of the ball, while fellow Hall of Famer Fred Calrke is counted among one of the scripted signatures. Other notables include Max Carey, Jim Viox, Doug Baird, Joe Conzelman. Signatures range from 2/10 to 8/10, with most quite readily legible. Certainly the advanced age, and the great rarity of any pre-1920 team ball, mitigates any condition concerns. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
