1911 T205 Gold Border Eddie Cicotte Tobacco Card PSA/DNA Mint 9, Signed. Searching auction databases and catalogs going back 15 years, this is only the second baseball card signed by Cicotte we could find, the last one being sold in 2001. Baseball historians have argued for years whether Charles Comiskey or Eddie Cicotte was most to blame for the greatest scandal in baseball history. It was undeniably Cicotte who beaned the first Cincinnati Reds batter he faced in Game One to signal the fix was on. With over 200-wins and a formidable career 2.38 ERA, had Cicotte chose a different path his name would have gone done in baseball history as one of the finer pitchers of his era. The card shows its age via wear, staining and creasing. The back displays a marvelous dark blue signature that has been authenticated and graded PSA/DNA Mint 9.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
