1910s-20s Detroit Tigers Stars Single Signed Baseball Lot of 4 with Bob Jones, Ray Hayworth, Archie Yelle, and Davy Jones.
Offered is a quartet of single signed baseballs of Detroit Tigers Stars from the 1910s and 1920s including Davy Jones, Bob Jones, Ray Hayworth, and Archie Yelle.

    D. Jones: OAL (Cronin) ball signed on a side panel and inscribed "Major League Career 1901-1915" showing moderate wear and light toning. "Kangaroo" played in the star-studded Tigers outfield alongside Hall of Famers Ty Cobb and Wahoo Sam Crawford and was a reliable leadoff man for three Tigers World Series appearances.

    B. Jones: OAL (Unidentified) ball signed on the sweet spot and inscribed "Detroit Tiger - 1917-1926" showing moderate wear and toning. The infielder, known as "Ducky", was part of the stacked 1921 Tigers squad that collectively hit .316 (still a record nearly 100 years later), hitting .303 himself.

Yelle: OAL (Harridge) ball showing light wear and toning, signed in bold black ink on a side panel. According to legend, the Tigers signed Yelle to a contract after he claimed that he could strike out the legendary Ty Cobb on three pitches -- Yelle got his three pitches, but instead of striking out Cobb, the Peach took him deep three times.

Hayworth: ONL (Coleman) ball with light toning, signed in blue ball point ink just off the sweet spot. With a playing career that spanned nearly two decades and included a pair of World Series appearances and the American League record for most consecutive chances by a catcher without an error (439, later broken by Yogi Berra) there is no doubt that Hayworth was a "baseball man" through and through.
