1910 Charles Comiskey Signed Letter. His professional debut as a player came with the 1882 St. Louis Brown Stockings, but The Old Roman earned his Cooperstown plaque for his essential involvement in the founding of the American League and his ownership of the Junior Circuit's Chicago entry. Here, on the gorgeous official letterhead of the White Sox, Commie sends a message to a book publisher. He writes, in part, "I have your letter of Aug. 29th to hand and shall be only too pleased to have Mr. Farrell and his friend send in their photographs. They no doubt, would be greatly pleased to have their photographs as well as their write ups in your history of the National Game." The closing signature is applied in 9/10 blue fountain pen ink. Page exhibits original mailing folds and general handling wear with some minor separation at the fold lines and a scattered edge tear. The overall aesthetic, as our photography should attest, remains nonetheless strong. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
