"Shot Heard Round The World" And "Mad Dash Signed Oversized Photos. Offered are signed photos from two of the most memorable moments in the history of baseball. The first photo measures 11" x 14" and is known as the "Shot Heard Round The World" signed in mint blue sharpie by Bobby Thomson, and Ralph Branca. The game-ending home run hit by Giants outfielder Thomson off Dodgers pitcher Branca at the Polo Grounds to win the National League pennant on October 3, 1951. As a result of the "shot", the Giants won the game 5-4, defeating the Dodgers in their pennant playoff series , two games to one. The second photo also measures 11" x 14" and is signed in Mint sharpie by Enos Slaughter, Marty Marion, and Roy Partee. The Mad Dash, or Slaughter's Mad Dash, refers to an event in the eighth inning of the seventh game of the 1946 World Series_ between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Boston Red Sox . With Enos Slaughter on first and two outs Harry Walker lined the ball to left-center field. Red Sox center fielder was the first to reach the ball. As he threw a relay to shortstop Johnny Pesky , Slaughter rounded third base , running right through the stop sign being given by third base coach Mike González heading for home plate with the winning run.
