Description

1915 E106 Amer. Caramel Honus Wagner, Batting PSA VG-EX+ 4.5. The E106 American Caramel series is one of if not the most condition sensitive entry of the early "E" card class. To date, only 11 cards have been graded by PSA at the EX 5 or better level and there have been none that earn the NM 7 label. If Baseball had its mythical gods as the Greek tales have, Wagner would be among the group of Olympians. The tales of his on-field talents and tobacco endorsement issues are all well intertwined in the tapestry of baseball history. What makes this "E" cards so special is that it is among the finest examples from a very scarce series where few high cards exist. The E106 edition appeared in 1915 and marked the end of the early caramel era. The grade is due to a slight wrinkle, or more appropriately called a "bend" in the lower left corner and some light corner wear. Of the paltry ten Wagner-Batting variations graded by PSA, this is the second finest recorded with the best copy a sliver nicer grading EX 5.
