Description

1977 Gordie Howe & Family Worn New England Whalers Sweaters Lot of 3 with Photo Reference. Gordie Howe's time with the New England Whalers was a joyful and remarkable chapter in hockey history - and a beautiful family story. After an extraordinary NHL career, Howe joined the WHA's Whalers in 1977, bringing along his sons Mark and Marty to play together professionally - a rare and treasured moment for the legendary "Mr. Hockey."

With the Whalers, Gordie not only contributed as a top scorer but also shared the ice with his boys, strengthening a bond that went beyond the rink. Their shared experiences in New England and later as the Hartford Whalers in the NHL symbolized family unity, teamwork, and the joy of playing the sport they loved together.

These sweaters were worn when Gordie, Marty and Colleen Howe were at the press conference announcing the legend's signing with the Whalers. The Marty and Gordie Howe sweaters are durene and have "Athletic Knitwear" size tags (Gordie size "M-XL" and Marty size "M-L") in the collar. The first name is in a felt material while the logo is at the center. The Colleen Howe jersey is green and has a "Athletic Knitwear size M-M" team in the collar. We are including an on-line image of the family wearing these jerseys. Each shows light wear. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
