4 HISTORIC PITCHERS SIGNED BASEBALLS 4 CT.
Pitchers who went down in baseball history for their achievements make up this lot of four personally autographed baseballs. Johnny Vander Meer, Don Larsen, Joe Nuxhall and Gaylord Perry all put their marks on the game for outstanding and unusual pitching achievements. Larsen stepped into a bit of immortality in the 1956 World Series when he threw a perfect game against the Brooklyn Dodgers, the only time a perfect tilt was accomplished in the WS. Nuxhall became the youngest player to ever appear in a major league game when, at age 15, he took the mound for Cincinnati on June 10, 1944. Perry became the first pitcher to win the Cy Young award in both leagues (for Cleveland AL and for San Diego NL). Vander Meer, the hard-throwing lefthander, became the only man to pitch back-to-back no-hitters when he accomplished the feat for Cincinnati in 1938. Nuxhall has signed an ONL (White) baseball in blue pen on the sweetspot, 9/10. Vander Meer, now deceased, signed an ONL (White) baseball on the sweetspot and has denoted to the side the dates of his no-hitters, 10/10. Also on the sweetspot, Larsen has signed an OAL (Brown) perfectly and added his perfect game information below his signature (ball displays minimal damage to the leather not affecting the signature), 10/10. Perry has signed an ONL (White) on the sweetspot and added the inscription "H.O.F.-91 #36" to the side of his signature, 10/10. LOAs from James Spence & Steve Grad/PSA DNA and Mike Gutierrez/MGA.
