1952 Topps Mickey Mantle #311 SGC Authentic.
Any serious hobbyist with a thrill for vintage cardboard will immediately recognize the given example as one of the true gems of the industry. Behold the #311 Mickey Mantle rookie card from Topps' celebrated 1952 issue -- which remains the single most sought-after Mantle card that there is. An absolute symbol of the collecting industry, one would do well to obtain a Mantle rookie with the eye appeal of the sparkling exemplar that we set before you today. The expert evaluators at the SGC grading company had issue with the edges of this fine specimen and have thus levied the classification of "authentic" to this card that would otherwise have received a much higher score. While some may frown upon this development, others will see this as their chance to own one of the most head-turning cards around in stellar visual condition. Action on this lot is sure to be a bustling affair.

Circa 1908 John L. Sullivan Signed Oversized Cabinet Photograph.
On September 7th, 1892 the unthinkable happened--the great John L. Sullivan was knocked out in the twenty-first round by "Gentleman" Jim Corbett. No one could believe it, even those that were present at ringside who had witnessed the event first hand. The nation mourned. They say old John L. went back to his room and wept. The nation wept with him, children, women and men. Newspapers and poets immortalized him. But John L. didn't stay down; he took the loss on the chin and got back up. One day, after a lifetime of alcohol abuse that had ruined his health and finances, he poured himself a glass of champagne, looked at it for a second, and then threw the glass against a wall. "Old John L. has had his last drink!" he roared. No one believed him, but he was true to his word. He not only stopped drinking, but became a temperance lecturer as well. Offered in this lot is a cabinet photo that shows Sullivan during this time in his life. His girth is greater and his hair is grayer, but the steel gaze is still evident in his eyes. The mighty right hand that felled many a foe is seen clutching a rolled paper, perhaps a speech that proclaims the evils of John Barleycorn, old John L. wins again. Sullivan has boldly signed the oversized 13.5x16" cabinet photo in the upper right corner "Compliments of John L. Sullivan to C. W. Ryder May 3rd, 1908". The piece shows a degree of wear typical of its age, but this only serves to add vintage charm and does not detract from visual appeal in any significant way.

1909-11 T206 Ty Cobb Portrait, Red Background SGC Authentic.
One of the keys to the beloved T206 tobacco issue, this red background portrait of the venomous tyrant Ty Cobb, whose skill on the baseball was only outweighed by the enormous hatred the man harvested. While the eye appeal of the given example is something to be reckoned with it must be said that trimming has made it necessary for this card to have been given the "Authentic" classification from SGC.

2005 Emeka Okafor Game Worn and Signed Full Uniform.
A highly touted talent out of the University of Connecticut, Emeka Okafor looked to be a solid pickup for the Charlotte Bobcats when they selected him with the second overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft. Okafor combined a unique mix of size and athleticism to record 19 double-doubles during his initial campaign, collecting NBA Rookie of the Year honors when all was said and done. As rare as it is to own a full uniform worn by any prominent NBA star, imagine how much more of a unique opportunity it is to own the gear used by the league's top rookie! The white Reebok home gamer comes from a March 1, 2005 home game against the Sacramento Kings that the Bobcats won -- a rarity during that 18-win season. Provenance is outstanding as the garments come with a letter from Bobcats equipment manager Mark Coffect. Okafor has signed each piece in perfect black sharpie, adding his jersey "#50" inscription. Tagging in jersey consists of the Reebok Bobcats exclusivity tag with "3-1-05" written in sharpie. Three flap tags are attached 1) "+4 LENGTH", 2) "54", 3) 2004-2005". Similar tagging is found in the shorts with the exclusivity tag here having "3-1-05" and "50" in sharpie. Flap tags here consist of 1) "46" size tag, 2) "+2 INSEAM", 3) "+2 RISE". Evidence of wear is light. Includes PSA RookieGraph Authentication.

1998 Barry Bonds Game Worn Pants.
Fantastic road gray pants were part of the on-field attire of baseball's current Home Run King Barry Bonds. Amazing wear is evident by the hole at the knee (which has undergone an attempt at repair) as well as pilling the area beneath the back pockets -- both no doubt a result of the slugger's sliding. A great memento from when Bonds was a more active player. Team-altered elastic bands have been sewn in the cuffs to give the player a stirrup-like effect. Swatch has been sewn in the waist that reads "BONDS 25 35-37 98 1".

Ed Cicotte Signed Index Card.
It was an unfortunate decision for Eddie Cicotte to take money to blow the 1919 World Series. Long-remembered as a spot of tarnish on the celebrated past of the game, the starter for the infamous Black Sox squad pitched and fielded terribly en route to losing to the Cincinnati Reds. At the time, Cicotte was one of the finest hurlers in the majors and would have surely gone on to receive a serious look at inclusion into Cooperstown. But autograph seekers would not be so keen on pursuing him after his lifetime ban from the sport. Thus, what we present here remains a terribly tough exemplar, especially in the high quality seen here.

1942 Billy Evans Signed Typed Letter.
With a temperament that simply refused to be shook by the decidedly more rambunctious sect of major leaguers, Billy Evans was widely regarded as the most-fair and the best umpire around. The Hall of Fame inductee, who has been deceased for over fifty years, remains a tough signature since many of the day's autograph collectors were busy clamoring for hand-signed memento from their playing heroes. Thus what we offer here will surely be filed in the category of scarcity -- a typed letter signed by the Cooperstown inductee and dated 1942.

Satchel Paige Signed Business Card.
When the New Orleans Pelicans minor league team moved to Springfield, IL in 1978, they became known as the Springfield Redbirds. An elderly Satchel Paige was made the club's honorary Vice President, as can be seen on the offered business card. Paige has applied his HOF signature to the card, however it must be noted that two staple holes have been made. Card's reverse has the text for Paige's famous "Rules for the Good Life."
