Circa 1970 Casey Stengel Handwritten Letter from the Casey Stengel Collection.
Fantastic content in this tightly packed two pages of writing, as the Hall of Fame manager notes "Remember the Yanks are jealous of the Amazing Mets. My departure from Yanks. Tell Jess [Haines] that the Mets pay me a salary (without a contract) for nine years. So I follow and advertize (sic) the Amazing Mets, who now are being murdered..." Stengel also references Joe DiMaggio in the text. Letter is to his caretaker from whose family the Casey Stengel collection derives. Apparently this lady also knew Hall of Famer Jesse Haines quite well also. Closing signature is full "Casey Stengel." All ink and pages themselves are in fantastic condition.
