1971-72 Herb Ralby Boston Bruins Stanley Cup Championship Ring. After being billed as a heavy favorite to capture the Stanley Cup during the 1970-71 season, the Boston Bruins were stunned in the quarterfinals of the playoffs when they fell to the Montreal Canadiens in seven games. Nevertheless, the Bruins seemed even more determined to achieve their goal in the following season and once again superstars Bobby Orr, Tony Esposito and Johnny Bucyk were each at the top of the scoring list. It all came together in the playoffs that memorable season and the team recaptured the cup by defeating the New York Rangers in six games of the Stanley Cup Finals. After dust settled from the Bruins exciting playoffs run, most experts had a clear idea of the reason for the team's post season success, but it was Rangers blueliner Brad Park who put it best: "Bobby Orr was-didn't make-the difference."From the pinnacle of the Boston Bruins' illustrious squads of the early 1970's, here we present former team public relations legend Herb Ralby's 1971-72 Stanley Cup Championship ring. Displaying moderately worn 14 karat gold, which showcases nine full-cut diamonds at the center, this "[size] 10.5" "BALFOUR" masterpiece has "Boston Bruins - World Champions" around the perimeter, while "H. RALBY" and "1972" is at the side shanks. Ring measures at a total of a hefty 32.9 grams, while the diamond weight is at 1.10 ct. Stanley Cup rings from historic franchises, such as the Boston Bruins are nearly unheard of in the hobby, and to have the opportunity to obtain an example from one of Bobby Orr's most significant Stanley Cup victories adds in making this vintage hockey treasure extra special.
