Description

Late 1990's Tony Gwynn Game Used Bat. Many players enjoy their glory years, then slowly fade away into the sunset, their skills degenerating slowly. Tony Gwynn was not one of those players. As his career wound to a close, Gwynn continued to hit over .320 his final four seasons, a testament to his prowess with the bat. This Rawlings Big Stick model bat is dated to these latter years of Gwynn's career. The stamping on the knob fades on the final digit of the date, but it appears to be late 1990's and likely 1999. Stamping shows "279H - 933 9?" and the size (32.5") and weight (31 ounces) are also written on the end.

Athletic tape has been added to the handle of this cupped piece of lumber. Bat is covered with marks from ONL baseballs, and also shows some checking on the barrel. Lots of great use on this uncracked bat makes it a great pick up for Hall of Fame game bat collectors.
