Description

1961 New York Yankees World Series Championship Ladies Replacement Ring Presented to Moose Skowron. It was one of the most unforgettable seasons in a Yankee history brimming with World Championship glory. Though the year is best remembered for the M&M Boys' assault on the Babe, that scintillating drama shouldn't overshadow the fact that the team was one of the best ever to wear the pinstripes. A genuine diamond is set into the face of the ring which bears the historic text, "New York Yankees World Champions." Each shank features the team's bat and hat logo and the year "1961." Interior band is stamped "Balfour 14K." Measures to a size six (6) and weighs eleven grams (11 g.). Fine condition.

This is a replacement ring that was created for the daughter of the Yankees' star first baseman Moose Skowron. It was consigned to this auction by a close friend of the Skowron family and comes with his letter of provenance.
