Description

1945 Clark Griffith Single Signed Baseball. A star pitcher during his youth, Griffith would develop into a successful manager and team owner after hanging up his spikes, giving his name to the Senators' home ballpark. Second only to his good friend Walter Johnson, Griffith rates among the most significant figures in Washington D.C. baseball history. But as rare as singles are from the Big Train, those from Griffith are rarer still. The presented OAL (Harridge) ball is one of the finest we've encountered. "To my friend Joel Kupperman: 'Wizard of Math'. Regards, Clark Griffith, Dec. 3, 1945" in bold black ink rates a 9/10 in strength. Ball exhibits some light foxing. A fine specimen. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
