1909 Ramly Cigarettes (T204) - Basic Complete Set Break - "#4 Current Finest on PSA Set Registry"

1909 T204 Ramly Charley O'Leary PSA EX 5. Widely regarded as one of the most elegant and artistically distinctive tobacco issues of the early 20th century, the T204 Ramly set has long been a favorite among advanced collectors. Issued in 1909 by the Ramly Cigarettes brand (T.T.T. or Turkish Trophy), the set features 121 subjects framed in ornate gold filigree borders with detailed black-and-white portrait photography. Completing the full set is a daunting challenge, and assembling it in elite condition is nearly impossible-until now.

The offered card is part of a remarkable set being broken and sold on a card-by-card basis (with the exception of Walter Johnson). Ranked #4 on the PSA Set Registry with a GPA of 4.89, the set stands among the finest T204 Ramly collections ever assembled. It boasts extraordinary quality across the board, with a staggering number of high-grade examples that surpass most offerings ever brought to market. Several entries in this set rank among the highest-graded examples in existence.

This auction marks the first installment of a two-part offering, with the second wave of cards from this elite T204 set slated for our October sale.

Presented is a 1909 T204 Ramly Turkish card of Charley O'Leary, a versatile infielder who could cover any bag and recorded 731 hits over 11 MLB seasons. The presented example boasts the Ramly ad on the reverse and is found in Excellent condition with decent centering but showing corner wear and some sporadic chipping along the edges. Graded PSA EX 5. Of the 23 examples found in the PSA Pop Report, this is one of only four cards graded EXCELLENT with seven rated higher.
