Description

Circa 1927 Lou Gehrig Signed Baseball.
Update: A PSA Full LOA is included with this lot

The ONL (Heydler) stamping on this ancient sphere strongly suggests an October autograph session, as the Yanks would only experience interleague play during the World Series. While we must report that the sweet spot Ruth autograph is of the clubhouse variety, the side panel signature from the Hall of Fame first baseman Gehrig is the genuine article. The surname projects at an intensity of 7/10, while the three letters of his first name are a touch lighter at 5/10. The ball itself presents very nicely, with the boldest of stamping and light, even toning. A few scattered spots of foxing cause no concern, while scattered surface abrasions might suggest signature removal. A great chance to own a quality Gehrig signature on a baseball at a reasonable price. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
