Population one, none superior!

2003 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Kobe Bryant (Number Pieces Autographs) #NP-KB PSA NM 7, Auto 10- #'d 7/8 - From The Yeow Exquisite Hidden Collection. This was a consequential season in Los Angeles, the Lakers falling short of their goal to win four NBA Championships in five seasons with a Finals defeat at the hands of the Detroit Pistons, closing out the uneasy partnership between Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal in the process. Those painful losses would turn Kobe into the unchallenged face of the franchise, and he'd sign a seven-year, $136.4 million contract the day after Shaq's departure was announced.

While Kobe's star power is the obvious appeal of this special rarity, certainly his sudden and shocking passing in January 2020 likewise drives the market, as the supply of signed trading cards like this one came to a close. That autograph is properly assessed at PSA's highest available grade, and only minimal handling can be identified on the card itself, which presents a clipping from a game worn jersey number inside a figural number "8" window at card obverse. Lower right corner bears an imprinted "7/8" in silver, a tiny limited edition. This elite specimen stands alone atop the PSA population. Graded PSA NM 7 Auto 10.
