Description

1975 Jim Palmer Game Worn & Signed Baltimore Orioles Jersey--Cy Young Season!
A three-time World Series champion (in three consecutive decades), three-time Cy Young Award winner, and four-time Gold Glove recipient, Palmer was a model of consistency and control, notching eight twenty-win seasons in nine years, an impressive lifetime 2.86 ERA, and a no-hitter in 1969. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1990.

The button-down home white knit on offer here was worn by the twenty-nine-year-old ace when he was at the height of his pitching powers. During that 1975 campaign, Palmer turned in his greatest season ever by leading the Major Leagues with twenty-three (23) wins, a 2.09 ERA, and ten (10) shutouts, while fanning 193 batters, the second highest total of his career. For his efforts, he was named the A.L. Cy Young Award winner.

"Orioles 22" blazes across the front with "Palmer 22" on the verso, all sewn on in two-color orange/black tackle twill. Jim signed on the front, right under his identifier, in NRMT black sharpie. The garment has two tags tucked inside the tail, including a "Rawlings 42" manufacturer's/size tag and a "Set 1 #8P 1975" flap tag. The heavier knit consistency of the jersey indicates it was used for cold weather games in Baltimore. The garment exhibits definite wear but remains in beautiful condition. One of the more important Palmer jerseys ever to come up for public sale. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from SGC Authentic.
