1940 Sammy Baugh & 1942 Washington Redskins Matchbooks Complete Set (20). From the John Esch collection. "Slingin' Sammy" Baugh was one of the most dominant and versatile players to ever step on the gridiron. He spearheaded the 1942 Redskins to a 10-1 record and an NFL Championship over the Bears. Offered is a 1940 Redskins matchbook featuring Sammy Baugh from "The Ross Jewelry Co." which presents itself in very good condition; plus a set of twenty matchbooks from that 1942 season which were "Compliments of Home Laundry, Atlantic 2400" and manufactured by the Maryland Match Co. of Baltimore. The items are in very good condition, with obligatory creasing where the books were originally folded and occasional staining. Players include: Cifers, Martinson, Beinor (staining), Kruger, Moore (staining), Todd, Wilken, Farkas, McChesney, Shugart, Aldrich, Flaherty (Head Coach), Davis, Edwards (Asst. Coach), Farman (staining), Baugh, Carroll, Seymour, Stralka (staining), and Young.
