Description

1997-98 Tim Duncan Game Worn Rookie Jersey. The return of an injury-plagued David Robinson and the acquisition of the man who would wear this jersey spurred one of the greatest turnarounds in NBA history, as San Antonio made it all the way to the Conference Semifinals in 1998 after a twenty and sixty-two season the previous year. Presented here is a home white mesh jersey worn by the future Hall of Fame forward during his first season in the NBA, an arrival that would begin one of the greatest basketball dynasties in professional history. With talents that caused Houston Rockets power forward Charles Barkley to admit that year, "I have seen the future and he wears number 21," Duncan earned NBA Rookie of the Year honors, beginning a sizeable collection of hardware for his trophy room. Black and grey tackle twill on chest announces "Spurs 21," with "Duncan 21" taking up the rear. Memorial black band at left shoulder allows the identification as a 1997-98 model. "Nike [size] 50" label in tail is framed by "NBA Authentics" and "San Antonio Spurs" tags, with "Length +4" designator below. LOA from Lou Lampson. Guide Value or Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500.
