Late 1930's Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball, PSA NM-MT+ 8.5. We'll never know the full identity of the "Malcolm" to whom the Bambino personalized this OAL (Harridge) ball, but we know he must have been a responsible fellow. Whereas so many of the Babe's baseballs were taken out to the sandlot, or left to rattle around dresser drawers for decades, the presented example was clearly tucked away in a dark,dry place and forgotten. The result is one of the highest grade Ruth singles you'll encounter, with the black fountain pen ink spelling, "To Malcolm From Babe Ruth" and the baseball itself each meriting grades of 8/10 from the tough graders at PSA/DNA. With an extra half-point added for "eye appeal," the result of NM-MT 8.5 is still probably a bit conservative.
