Description

1906 Adrian "Cap" Anson Handwritten Signed Six-Page Letter. Very lengthy correspondence from the founding member of the 3,000 Hit Club regards various business enterprises in which Anson was involved or had interest. Among these enterprises is one very close to his heart: "...I have also a piece of property that I can lease at 63 St. just one block east of Cottage Grove for amateur base ball..." The letter is rendered in Anson's distinctive script with bold black fountain pen on front and back of three pages of personal letterhead from his Chicago City Clerk's Office. The closing signature reads "A.C. Anson," and reveals the most innocent of smudges from an errant hand, surely nothing that can override the tremendous power of an otherwise flawlessly penned document. The pages show original mailing folds and the faintest hints of foxing on the final sheet, but are otherwise free from defects. A voluminous text sure to impress serious ALS collectors. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
