Description
1937 Birth Certificate with Footprints from The Brooks Robinson Collection. We suppose this isn't the "official" birth certificate, but it clearly dates to the first hours of Robinson's life, as the tiny footprints at the upper corners assure. The text rather playfully identifies "Brooks Calbert Robinson, Jr." as a member of the "Babies Alumni Association," a distinction slightly less prestigious than Hall of Fame enshrinement, but significant nonetheless. The hospital superintendent, the delivering doctor and nurse sign at lower right. Some heavy fold lines and tape stains, but overall aesthetics remain strong. No earlier artifact of Brooks Robinson memorabilia exists. Framed dimensions 10x13". Letter of provenance from Brooks Robinson.Auction Info
