Baseball Stars Signed Babe Ruth First Day Covers Lot of 4. Each of these four first day covers, dated July 6, 1983, has been decorated with art depicting the Great Bambino Babe Ruth as well as a Ruth 20-cent stamp. Signatures here are from Allie Reynolds, Don Larsen, and Frank Crosetti, who each have signed an envelope, with the final one being signed by both players involved in the dramatic Shot Heard Round the World home run -- Bobby Thomson and Ralph Branca.
