The Bambino's appearance upon the sweet spot of an Official American League baseball bearing the stamped facsimile signature of Ernest Barnard assures the vintage listed in our lot title, guaranteeing that it derives from a season that saw Ruth lead the American League in home runs. Light soiling is strongly suggestive of game use prior to signing, leaving open the possibility that this is one of 195 balls that Ruth sent over the fences during the four-year production span.
