Frank Chance, a key figure in early 20th-century baseball, was best known as the player-manager of the famed "Tinker to Evers to Chance" infield trio for the Chicago Cubs. A two-time World Series champion and later Hall of Famer, Chance was respected both for his leadership and his skill at first base during an era of fundamental, strategic baseball.
