1930's Lou Gehrig Signed Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1 & Auto 8. We've never seen this image before and it might be our very favorite of the subject, the low angle casting the Iron Horse in an appropriate hero's pose, the Yankee Stadium scoreboard and Bronx County Courthouse appearing in a distant haze beyond the crisp focus of the doomed Hall of Famer. Gehrig tended to have a light touch when it came to signing, leaving his autograph among the lighter survivors on team balls of the era, but here his inscription earns every point of its impressive grade from the experts at PSA/DNA. The inscription reads, "To Tom -- With Kindest Personal Regards, Cordially Lou Gehrig."Photo measures 9.25x7", with some scattered creasing (most notably at lower left corner) that barely distracts the eye outside of raking light. Our lot photography should demonstrate that the overall aesthetics are world class. An absolutely spectacular showpiece for the uncompromising collector. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Type 1 & Auto 8.
