Period-Signed 1948 Leaf Doak Walker Rookie (Bright Yellow Background) #4 PSA Good 2, PSA/DNA Auto 10 - From The Golden Age Collection. SMU standout Doak Walker was a Hall of Fame running back who was the No. 3 overall player taken in the 1949 NFL Draft. Selected by the Boston Yanks he quickly went to the Detroit Lions where he shined for six seasons. Overall he rushed for 1,520 yards, caught 152 passes for 2,539 receiving yards, and scored 33 touchdowns overall. A five-time Pro Bowl selection, he helped the Lions win two NFL titles (1952 and '53) and was inducted into the Football Hall of Fame in 1986. Offered is Walker's prized 1948 Leaf rookie card, which shows his dropping back with the pigskin. This bright-yellow-background version of card #4 is found in Good condition with great color and good centering. but it's the signature that adorns the front that bolsters this specimen considerably. He signed it diagonally across the front in powerful blue in. Graded PSA Good 2 with a certified PSA/DNA Auto 10.
