1887-90 N172 Old Judge John Clarkson (#78-1, Chicago) SGC 40 VG 3. A hurler that could rightfully be called one of the finest ever, John Clarkson was durable and spectacular, pitching for some incredible Cap Anson-led Chicago Cubs teams of the 1880s. In 1885, he won an incredible 53 games, still good for second, all time. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1963 after winning 328 games. Offered is a very sharp looking card of Clarkson from the popular N172 Old Judge set. This is pose #78-1 R/Arm extended horizontally. Looking forward. Left hand on thigh with the "Chicago" team caption. Graded SGC 40 VG 3.
