Description

1988 Chicago Cubs First Night Game At Wrigley Field Ticket Stub. Wrigley Field, long known as the last Major League ballpark without lights, finally hosted its first official night game on August 9, 1988, when the Chicago Cubs played the New York Mets. For decades, the Cubs resisted adding lights, with team ownership preferring the tradition of daytime baseball, making Wrigley an iconic afternoon destination. However, pressure from MLB and scheduling needs eventually led to the installation of lights, bringing the team in line with the rest of the league. While night games are now a regular part of the Cubs' schedule, Wrigley Field still maintains its unique charm by featuring more day games than any other ballpark, preserving a piece of its historic identity.

Offered is a ticket stub to that night that lit up Wrigleyville. Moderate wear.

Guide Value or Estimate: $200 - up.
