Description

1950 Bing Crosby Pro-Am Championship Trophy Won by Sam Snead. The gorgeous Pebble Beach course served as the home of this annual tournament hosted by superstar entertainer Bing Crosby, one of the most devoted linksman of the Hollywood set. It was Snead himself who won the first tournament, then just eighteen holes, and its cash prize of $500. The tenth edition for which this impressive trophy bowl was presented was contested in team format, with Snead sharing the victory in a four-way tie at 214 strokes with Smiley Quick, Dave Douglas and Jack Burke, Jr.

The bowl is marked "Gorham" sterling silver on base and engraved artfully on the side, "1950 Bing Crosby Pro Amateur, Monterey Peninsula, Winner." The trophy stands approximately six inches in height on its included wooden base and measures nine inches in diameter. Fine condition. Letter of provenance from Jack Snead.
