Description

1938 Joe Louis vs. Max Schmeling Full Ticket. Joe Louis vs. Max Schmeling is widely considered the most important two-fight series in pugilistic history. Not yet aware of the dangers lurking in Germany, most of white America supported the foreigner in this contest, joining the Nazis in the belief that it was a battle for racial supremacy. Schmeling gave his fans the victory they craved, finishing the seemingly unbeatable Louis in the twelfth round and becoming an unwilling hero to the Nazi party. Issued that day is the offered lower stand full ticket. The corners show rounding but the ducat appears crease-free.
